Infrastructure

1. Structured Cabling:
We design and build customer tailored cabling infrastructures nationwide.   Our cabling systems support voice, data, video, security and multimedia systems regardless of their manufacturer. We work with our clients to evaluate, design and install the optimum integrated system for your organization. KBS has developed a competency in executing large scale installations. We are a “one stop shop” for all your organization network infrastructure needs whether you have 5 locations or 500 locations.

Copper Cabling Solutions.
We install data communication structured cabling solutions, providing the ultimate performance and reliability for networks that require copper. These include Category 5, Category 5e and Category 6.

Fiber Optic Solutions.
Conventional and blown fiber cabling solutions that compliment the deployment of optical solutions deeper into the network delivering an infrastructure that is robust and will last well into the future.

Low-voltage Cabling Solutions.
Solutions that support music and paging systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) as well as security systems, fire alarms and access control systems.

2. Wireless
Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) enable users to establish and maintain network connections within or between buildings, without the limitations of wires.

Benefits of a Wireless LAN
Adaptable networking settings

  • Transitioning to mobile computing
  • Ability to quickly augment workstations
  • Ease of management from a centralized location

Inexpensive Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity

  • Replacement for costly leased lines
  • Point-to-Point solutions
  • Point-to-Multipoint solutions through a centralized controller

Integrated mobile services for your LAN

  • Wireless handheld computing for iPads and similar devices
  • The ability to implement a wireless IP telephony solution
  • Wireless file and print sharing

KBS provides pre-sale site surveys to ensure a wireless network will provide adequate coverage in your environment as well as which wireless protocol is best suited.

Wireless LAN Site Survey includes:
Physical Site Survey – A KBS wireless engineer trained in network design meets with you to discuss and document your specific requirements, including application and bandwidth needs for your wireless LAN deployment. The technician analyzes your site to determine the appropriate equipment and equipment locations for the coverage and networking functionality you desire. The physical site survey includes:

  • Determine location to install Access Points
  • Measuring the signal strength between access points and client devices that need to communicate with them
  • Identification of potential sources of RF interference
  • Examination of host connectivity alternatives
  • Evaluation of existing network connections, equipment, safety, security, cabling, power requirements and other key considerations

Survey Report – Data collected during your site survey is used to develop an installation strategy. This report contains an analysis of the survey’s results and a network design based on desired coverage, including redundancy and other factors such as Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Assessment Review – Our engineers will review the results of your site survey and assessment report to determine the best strategy for deploying your WLAN .

Wireless LAN Installation Services include:
Deployment – Working with your team, KBS will install and configure the WLAN equipment, review the installation, perform an in-place wireless site survey to test the WLAN and tweak the configuration to best fit your needs.

Support – Once the solution has been implemented, KBS can provide support based on your needs and requirements.

Leverage KBS’ experience and know-how to integrate a complete (WLAN) solution into your IT infrastructure. Our installation team will work with you to implement industry-leading wireless technology with minimal disruption of your IT and organizations operations.
